The Weekend Islamic School abides by all state and federal safety mandates to safely manage the COVID concerns for our students, staff, and volunteers. We offer the following guidelines for everyone:
- Wearing a mask is recommended.
- Please do not come to school if you feel unwell.
- Anyone that tests positive for COVID should remain in quarantine for the recommended number of days and must be free of any symptoms before returning to school.

All books will be provided by the school on the orientation day. However a parent is requested to provide:
- For elementary grades, pre-K to grade 2) a box of washable crayons, a glue stick and a pair of safety scissors would be appreciated.
- For secondary grades (grade 3- grade 8), a composition notebook along with a couple of mechanical pencils and erasers.
- Face masks are encouraged for all.

Overview of Youth Class 202:
Young Muslims in the 202 section will engage with many contemporary issues that they come across in their everyday lives. These issues are often discussed amongst students within high school, social settings, and university. By having the students discuss these contemporary issues within a controlled, masjid setting we allow them to engage with the issues while also instilling within them the correct Islamic positions on them. The topics covered within this section include:
- Why is Allah worthy of worship?
- Aqeedah (Islamic Creed & Theology)
- Atheism, Scientism, and Utilitarianism
- Good & Evil
- Ulum ul Qur’an (The Science of the Qur’an)
- Was the Qur’an written or revealed?
- Difference between Qur’an and Hadith
- Beginning of revelation
- Transmission, memorization, and preservation of the Qur’an
- Asbab an Nuzul (The reasons for revelation)
- The concept of abrogation
- Tafsir & Interpretation

Overview of Youth Class 301:
In the 301 section young Muslims will be immersed in the ayat of the Qur’an through the science of Tafseer, or interpretation. In this class we will focus primarily on translation of the arabic ayat, linguistic phenomena, and basic tafseer. Although, the students will also be encouraged in the classroom to reflect on the ayat being discussed with regards to their relation to tazkiyyatun nafs (self purification & spirituality), ethical/ moral implications, and broader meanings within the Qur’an. Some of the specific ayat & surahs that will be discussed include:

- Surah al Hujurat
- Ayatul Kursi
- Surah al Kahf
- Surah Luqman

Sunday school : 9:40 am – 2:15 pm *
Pre-k to grade 1- will get dismissed at 1:45 pm (child must be picked up at the most by 1:55 pm so their caregivers may pray Dhur in jamaá .
Dar-us -Sakina: 10 am-12 pm
Youth classes: 11:30 am to 12:30 pm ( (201 and 202) | 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm (301)
